Install and Configure PLM 7.0 Business Package

Hello,

I am pretty new to PLM 7.0 and would like to know where to find the proper installation and configuration guide for PLM 7.0 Portal Business Package.

I have checked the following places, but none of them talk about any SCA file for portal and any roles that need to be assigned in the backend server to access the same.

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/d4/75fbadbab84917be143ba80774b6d5/frameset.htm

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/cc/31e187540f48a8a83fe8f9c6cd2885/frameset.htm

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/SAPPLM7.0includingSAPEasyDocumentManagement7.0

https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/plm-inst

But none of them give any information about any SCA that will contain respective portal iViews/Pages etc

It will be really great if someone can provide me some steps of where to start and point to right material for activating the SAP PLM WebUI

Regards,

Jai

Hi

Probably you are aware of the EHP-4 dependency for SAP PLM 7.0 & activation of the WEBUI component

For the Enterprise portal setting u can refer to the following link sap help link.

Hi John,

Thanks for your response.

I am NOT aware about the activation of the WEBUI component. Kindly throw some light on the same.

I have already gone through the link mentioned by you and configured the system in the Portal. My problem is that I am unable to view the Portal Content -iViews, Roles - for PLM in the portal.

I searched in SMP and have come across SAP Note 1165442 - Enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP: Info for portal content

In this note I can see reference to BP for PLM Webuser Interface 1.40 Delivery File Name BP_PLMWD*.sca

As per my understanding we need to deploy this SCA file on the portal to get the PLM specific roles and iViews.

I also found some PLM WebUI Roles in the backend ECC that I have assigned to my user. I hope this should be sufficient for me to view the PLM Role in Portal. Kindly confirm.

Also do let me know if there is some other setting that needs to be done to activate the PLM role.

Thanks a lot for your help once again.

Regards,

Jai

I deployed the BP_PLMWD*.sca and now I can view the roles and iViews.
