SAP Data Archiving

Hi

We would like to perform Data Archiving for BI system.

Please could anyone provide some help i.e procedure to archive tables and define retention period.

Hi,

see my post here :

note :

- you can NOT archive table, you only can archive for archiving object

- an archiving objects may consist of several tables and vice versa, use DB15 to show the mapping

- archive (pre processing, write and delete) using tcode SARA

- read using tcode SARI, or ask ABAP to create tcode to read from archive.

for setting retention period (resident time) it is depend on archiving object you choose.

eg. for SD_VBAK, set it using tcode SARA > CUstomizing > Application-Specific Customizing: Archiving Control for Sales Doc.
