disp+work stopped. Why ??

Former Member

Hi,

the server cannot start. I see in the nodes tree under Process Lists 3 entries:

msg_server.exe --> running

disp+work.exe --> stopped

igswd.exe --> stopped

what is the reason that disp+work has stopped ??

If I go to the syslog node I see the following error message:

operating system call gethostbyname failed (error 11004)

perform rollback

transaction cancelled

I cannot check reports or transaction because I still cannot log on.

what should I do ??

have you started the listener? please check using below command

lsnrctl status (if not running start using below command)

lsnrctl start

BTW: you have opend the messaged in wrong forum, as you have oracle DB not DB2(DB6)

Hallo Sunil,

I checked the status of the listener and it is Ok. I started the listener again just in case but the problem exists and the report tells me this:

service DEV has 1 instance

Instance DEV status unknown, has 1 handler for this service.

What should I do now ??
