How can I index PDF-Files from my local harddisc in TREX

Hello,

I have the following question:

Is it possible to index PDF-Files, which are stored in my local HDD, with ´TREX.

This is my scenario:

1. An application scans many paper documents and saves the files as PDF in an local folder.
2. I want now TREX to index these files.

How can I realize this? Is it possible to start the indexing without being in SAP?
