Batch characteristic value - auto update

Hi All,

We are planning to maintain stoare bin location (material master / plant /storage view 1 field ) as one of the batch characteristics. And would like to update the value of this characteristics automatically when goods receipt for the purchase order is performed.

I tried inputting below table field in additional data tab of characteristics (ct04)

Table name -MARD, field name -

However, i see the stoage bin location is not automatically populated in batch characteristics ( value )when goods receipt is performed for a purchase order.

Is there any way that batch characteristics value is updated automatically with stoage bin location?

Actually we have two characteristics 1. for stoage bin 2. last goods receipt date . 2( last goods receipt ) will get updated value

from the table MCH1 -LWEDT while the batch get creation automatically.

But it not happen for the character - stoage bin . i updated table and field name MARD - LGPBE in ADDITION TABLE in Character

does the batch already exist or is the batch automatically created with the recept?

Batch get created automatically while do GR.

SAP does not have access to MARD while creating the classification, classification is not at a level like storage location, it is client level, means for materials it would be MARA table, for classification MCH1 but not MCHB.

You have to use object dependencies to get the value.

thanks for your reply. As you said , if this isnot possible to pick the Storage bin details from the maerial master / plant data/stor1 view.

can you explain how this object dependencies is working and useful to get the value.

i have no idea about this topic. what athe step i need to folow , so i can pick the stoage bin from maerial master ( MARD- LGPBE) for Value updated for the charactristic.

Hi,

I checked the link and this chapter is come under the variant configuration.

since the class whcih is created under VC is 300. But we are using the 023 class type .

How it will be useful for me?
