Installation of enterprise portal

Hello,

i will install the enterprise portal. i have installed the package SAPinst_SP_WAS640.exe with the sap application server 6.4 and the sap netweaver developer stuidio 2.0.4. i read that there will be problems by the installation process. have i to deinstall my application server or/and my developer studio? Need i my sql for the enterprise portal?

i read also, that in the enterprise portal web side in the installation package there are only 1 of the 4 needed files?

Hi! Frank,

You may face some problem while Installing Portal But usually problem comes when you Installed the portal and due to some problem you have to Un-Install the Portal and again Re-Install the Portal.

I think portal makes some entry in Windows Registry and while Un-Installing the portal the entry remains un-touched, so creates the problem.

Don't worry about the problem, they will teach you a lots of new thing.So go ahead and Install the Portal.

one more thing, there is no need to Un-install the NWDS.NWDS is development tool for portal.NWDS won't create any problem.

I will prefer removing everything and then reinstalling it, that's what I did for my developer machine.
