portalapp.xml file cached ?

I am working on a page which contains several iviews, which

reads lot of displayable text from portalapp.xml file of

the portal application. I put these text values under

'property' tag of the 'component profile' tag. When I change text, and redeploy the portal application, no difference is happening in the display of text.

I tried removing the portal application from the server,

and redeploying it. It didn't help.

I tried changing JSP file contents, Java file contents,

they are immediately picked up correctly.

But when I restarted the portal, it did the change !!

So, portalapp.xml file is cached.

if so how to invalidate the cache ?

I am using NWDStudio v2.0.5 and EP60SP2Patch3.

Thanks for the reply.

Prasad Nutalapati.

    Hi Prasad,

You may be seeing the result of a component cache artifact. Try to release the portal component by going to System Admin -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Application Console ->

Select the component and click "show"

Click "release" on the component you are having problems with.

    Hope this helps,

    Will

    Hi William:

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I did follow the advice. I released not only the component

I am interested in, but also all the other components

on the same page, with in the same application context,

    but invain.

Only way out left for me is to restart the portal.

    Thank you very much,

    Prasad Nutalapati
