Adding an infoobject in already existing compounded key(with 2 infoobjects)

Hi,

Please guide me in following situation.

There is a compounded key in master data with two infoobjects PLANT and SOURCESYSTEM. Now I require to add another infoobject COMPANY CODE in same compound key.

Questions:

1. Is this possible? If yes, how can we do it?

2. What about the historical master data which is already present?

3. Does it has impact on other infocubes, multiproviders or DSOs having that compound key? If Yes how?

4. What is other solution instead of doing this type of compounding?

Thanks & Regards,

Archana

Hi,

this forum is about the SAP BusinessObjects BI Solution Architecture. I would suggest you post your question into the SAP BW forum.

If at all this is neccessary then use remodelling in your case.

But pls make sure SAP doesn't take responsbility for remodelling

Hi,

I do not understand why you want to add the company code to the compounding fields. The plant is already assigned to a company code in R/3, so already compounding (unique).

Nevertheless changing the info object like you suggests, requires a clean situation.

As far as I know the complete data used for the applicable info object (and the provider) has to be emptied before the change can be implemented. History will be erased, but with a good cut over plan you can perhaps reload the data.
