System properties for application in WAS 6.30

Hello everybody,

could anyone tell me how I can set a system property for my application running on WAS 6.30? Till today we worked with another J2EE-compliant server. On this server we set the system property on startup time of the server by using command java with option -D<name>=<value>.

Now we do not know how to do this in case of WAS 6.30. Could anyone help? Are there any other solutions to set system properties?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

You can do such things with the config tool, that is delivered in a directory named as such. But I do not recommend to continue this, as if you ever want to go into a usual production system with your program this means to shutdown quite a large system just to get your parameter.

    • Hello Nir,

If you are setting system properties to make your application run, this has also to be made on productive systems. Productive SAP systems are usually running in an environment where you are not allowed to change any system settings.

For doing this anyway, just start the config tool and klick on your server. The entry screen shows the system settings to you and you can manipulate them easily.
