Double Quotes when Downloading to Excel

Former Member

Anyone experience this?

Apparently we have double quotes in our Product descriptions and these are playing havoc with csv downloads. When a double quote is encountered, the data break points go out of alignment and data gets moved into incorrect columns in Excel, thus columns give incorrect results when the column is totaled.

We initially thought our data needed to be changed to not use double quotes. However upon further investigation, it's clear that csv functionality works fine with double quotes

Any suggestions or experience similar issues?

Hello Steven,

unfortunately this is a known issue with open hub. Quotes in data values are not escaped in the export file (but they should be).

Please open an OSS message and request a fix from SAP development.

We are not using open hub.. would this problem exist irregardless.

I've opened an oss note but if you can reply back on that question that would be great

Steven,

the problem is basically the same. It is not really tied to the open hub but to the export/file save function. So OSS is the right way to go.
