Release of SEM Planning Layout Locks in SAP Portal

Hi,

We are using SEM Web Layouts and they are being displayed through the SAP Enterprise Portal.

To avoid messages when navigating between layouts, we have set the Independant Application Flag to False in the Web Layout Customising, however this is currently resulting in the locks not being release when you navigate away from the BSP within the portal.

How can we get the portal to release the lock when navigating away from layouts.

Thanks

Sakhr

    Dear Sakhr,

when the portal closes a session an abort command is send to the BSP runtime and no popup is shown. In the best case everything is removed - but this is not really what you like to archive.

One workaround to use several layouts in parallel is to open the target/second layout in a new portal window - in other words: one layout per browser window.

On the other hand ... could you sketch your scenario more detailed? Is it e.g. an option to add the different layouts in one web interface?

    Regards, Olaf

      Hi,

Basically I have 2 Tabs within the portal with 2 different planning layouts (SEM web layouts).

The SEM Layouts have the 'Independant Application' Setting set to False. (when we set it to true, we keep getting messages whenever we move between tabs, saying are you sure you want to exit the layout....).

However when you leave one layout and click on the next tab, the lock associated with the first layout are not being released. (N.b tabs within the portal not SEM Layout).

The Help in the BPS_WB setting sais this is because the releaseing of the locks is delegated to the SAP Workplace, but what we do not know what to do is,, how we can get the portal (or workplace) to release the locks.

      Thanks

      Sakhr.
