Yet another Web AS 6.40 installation problem with sapstartsrv

Hi there:

unable to install WebAS 6.40 preview edition. Installation fails when calling sapstartsrv (see log extract below).

Unfortunately, there is no more detail - either when calling sapstartsrv directly from the command line or in the sapstartsrv.exe.log file 😕

Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks, Harry.

    I got the same problem.

    So I did this way.

    - start manually sapstartsrv.exe and create service

    - change "ERROR' to "OK" in keydb.xml

    - Restart sapinst

    It's works.

    enjoy it.

I got the same error and followed the instructions to start sapstartsrv.exe manually. It worked great but because I did not close the installation, I simply selected "retry" and the installation proceeded without a glitch... Thanks!

Edit: I did not have to change keydb.xml
