What is your strategy for applying HR support packs?

Currently our company applies support packs to all systems (HR, BW, FI, PM, SC, Portal, etc.) each fall near year end.

We are currently going through an evaluation on whether we can apply only HR support packs this year without doing the other systems. The main consideration for doing this is resource constraints. We are assuming that this can be done, but would like to know if anyone else is doing this, has done this, or has thought of doing this, and can provide us with some tips.

Has anyone attempted to apply only HR support packs without applying support packs to other systems? If so, what issues have you run into? What things do we need to keep in mind if we do this?
