Problems occurs while applying the support stack 02

Hello,

I am just updating our XI-Installation 3.0 from Stack 01 to Stack 02.

Unfortunately I have run into problems, I can't solve myself.

According to the document SAP Netweaver 04 Support Stack 02, I have

patched the Kernel and imported the Support Package for SAP Basis 6.40.

(By the way, the program SPAM tells me that the SPAM status is yellow,

is this correct? I have received a success confirmation!)

After that I want to apply the support package for SAP Web As Java 6.40.

Please take a look at my step by step description of what I have done:

1.) Installed the recommended Java JRE (j2re-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p). I

have chosen the "modify" optionduring the installtion process

2.)Tried to adjust the memory settings of the VM according to 716604,

but I didn`t find the tool do that at least I didn`t find it using your

path in Note 709140. Anyway I don`t think that there is a problem with the memory settings.

3.)There is enough space on the db-machine, so no problems on this side.

4.)I checked the sap-inst configuration, the jre is: 1.4.2_04-b05 mixed

mode

5.)Took a look at notes 697535, but Ididn`t find anything that applies

to my set up.

6.)I did no patching of the IGS

7.)I extrated 3 files:

SAPINST05_0-20000118.SAR

CTRLORA05_0-20000118.SAR

J2EERTOS05_0-20000118.SAR

in the correct directory

8.)Started the procedure with sapinst.exe

9.)Entered the path to the instance profile

10.)Enter the client number and used the SAP* user for the RFC

Connection

11.)The message pops up, telling me that the installation fails.

Please point me in the right direction to solve this problem.

Information of the System:

Windows 2000 Server SP 4

Oracle 9i

SAP XI 3.0 SP01 on Web AS 6.40

Thank you very much
