Hi

I have the same problem.

I experience the following:

1. SSO from SAP Portal to BOE works: I can view Sample Crystal Reports based on the BO-iView-template without additional login

2. SSO from SAP Portal to SAP BW works: a) I can view custom BW Web queries without additional login and b) the connection tests on the system object in SAP Portal run fine

3. I assume SSO between BOE and BW works because I can view Xcelsius dashboards based on BW queries within SAP Portal without additional login

Nevertheless I am presented a login screen ("The report you requested requires further information. -

Database Logon") if I try to view a crystal report based on a BW query, no matter if I start the report from InfoView, SAPGUI or SAP Portal. If I enter my SAP credentials I can see the report runs fine.

SAP Authentication in BOE seems to work (I can import users & roles). In all 3 systems I have at least Admin or equivalent permissions. If I change the Database Configuration for this report within InfoView ("Use SSO") it does make any change (I also read somewhere a reply from I. Hilgefort that this is not necessary if BW publisher service is installed correctly).

We use SAP BW 701.06, BOE XI31FP3.4 and SAP Portal 701SP6

Any help appreciated!

I assume that you are saving first your reports in BW (using the SAP toolbar in CR Designer) and then publish them succesfully in your BO system. Only during this workflow the BW publisher service is used and if it is configured correctly then SSO should work when the report is run without having to change anything in the Database configuration panel. Note that when a published report runs in your BOE system the BW publisher is not used.

Hello Stratos

Yes, I use the SAP->Save Report command within Crystal Reports 2008 12.2.0.290

It is assigned to a role so I can see the report in SAPGUI Role Menu.

The Report is automatically published to BOE; I can see it in InfoView in the appropriate Folder structure (Public folder -> SAP -> 2.0 -> SystemAlias -> ROLE Description).

But if I select "View" in InfoView I'm asked for the database login to my BW backend (same as in SAP Portal iView Preview)

Maybe the problem is elsewhere, because SSO works with Xcelsius Dashboards and BW-data, but my BW colleague and I have no idea where we should look.

Do you login using your SAP BW credentials in the InfoView? Or do you use alias mapping (eg. SAP lias to WIndows AD) for this?

I use my SAP BW credentials for InfoView login. No mapping is done and no AD/LDAP is connected to BO-Tools.

My SAP Portal UME username is also the same as in SAP BW and SSO Portal<->BW works.

I would suggest to open a new thread for this. THe original poster was facing a different problem. In the mean time you can try to delete the report from BOE and publish it again using /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN.

Make sure to maintain the publishing variables using the rscr_maint_publish transaction. Do that before trying to publish the report again.

Logon into the CMC and under Folders (or Personal folders if the report is saved in the Favorites folder of a specific user) navigate to your report. Select it and press the right mouse button. Choose Database configuration and scroll down to the end of the window.

Here you have two options:

Option 1: Select the Use SSO context for database logon option. Assuming you are suing SAP credentials to logon into the InfoView this option will force the BO server to use the same SAP credentials when connecting to your BW system to fetch data.

Option 2: Select the Use same database logon as when report is run option. In this case scroll again to the top of the windows and set a fixed user name and password in the Use original database logon information from the report. area. THese credentials will be used when fetching data out of the BW system regardless of the user that runs the report in the InfoView.
