2.Suppose if we have query technical name and we go to query designer and open the query, how do we notice if its a static report or dynamic report?

Hi,

Are you talking about static and dynamic sections of report designer? if so than

If you query is using two structures one is rows and one in column than it is static and if using one structure in you report than it is dynamic. You can view your report structures while opening it in query designer. Hope this helps.

Hi experts

Thanks for your replies.

I am just asking to know if its static report or dynamic report by looking at query definition in Query designer. As I understand,if a query uses variables,as we can choose which data we would like to see,it becomes dynamic report.

If a query doesnot use variables and filters are fixed, then its static report.

am I right?

Thanks.

Just goto RSA1 -> Metadata Repository and search for your BEx query. That will give the list of all the objects associated with your query. There you can check if there are any variables associated with that query.

Hi guys,

my doubt is not how to find out variables in a query but how to find out if a query is static or dynamic by viewing query definition in query designer?

Thanks alot.

Hi,

Can I ask what you mean by static or dynamic reports? do you mean if it has variables or not? The best way is to look at the report in transaction RSRT and choose "Techincal Information" you can get all the info on the report here.
