How to get Borders to show and print when Field is NULL

1394 Views

Hi

I am trying to get my specific field to have it's borders show and print when the field is NULL, I have checked on this Forum for any Posts and came across one

displaying-lines-around-fields

There was a Formula there that I tried but it did not work for me:

If IsNull(textfield) or textfield="" then " " else textfield

I tried different scenarios and need some help as it is past my expertise now, I have done the following:

fx Formula Fields (called PrintBlankLines)

If IsNull ({RPC1.U_GLDescription}) Or

InStr ({RPC1.U_GLDescription}, " ") = 0 Then

" "

Else

" "

Format Field > Format Editor > Border Tab

If IsNull ({RPC1.U_GLDescription}) Or

InStr ({RPC1.U_GLDescription}, " ") = 0 Then

crSingleLine

Else

crSingleLine

(within Design and Sub-report tab of my CR)

File > Options > Formula Editor > Null Treatment >

Default Values for Null

File > Options > Reporting > Reading Data > Convert

Database NULL Values to Default (ticked)

File > Options > Reporting > Reading Data > Convert

other NULL Values to Default (ticked)

File > Report Options > General Settings > Convert

Database NULL Values to Default (ticked)

File > Report Options > General Settings > Convert other

NULL Values to Default (ticked)

Has anyone got any other ideas as I need to have my Borders intact even if the Field is NULL or 0 (as it doesn't look so good when the field borders disappear).
