CO-PA & BW

Hi,

We are looking at implementing BW for CO-PA reporting. I am interested in finding out how successful people have been with the CO-PA business content. Another thought we had was to use the transactional tables rather than the CO-PA tables to extract the information. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Zev

Hello!

in our previous company we implemented the co-pa with transactions for the prototype. But in later stages we changed to use business content. it was very useful and easy to implement. and if you wish to use transaction table you need to create some custome views in r/3 in order to create the nessesary reports. and often that will be very confusing as SAP R/3 uses very complex data model. So , according to my experience using Business content save a lot of time and effort.

BCT is very usefull about extraction ... but if you have a lot of data to load be aware that you could run in a performance problem. By the way, nothing that cannot be solved with some indexes.

Another usefull thing is that by replicating DS and assinging it to an InfoSource BW does create all needed InfoObjects ...

Hope it helps
