TREX index failure

Hi

I've got an ep 6.0 sp2 patch3 running with a TREX engine. When trying to Reindex an existing index I get the error message "Operation failed clearing index failed:the defined attribute already exists (Errorcode 2959)". I've also tried to delete the existing index an create a new one, but is like the index is never created with any content, since a search is returning with no result and the folder with the index in the TREX directory is way small than it should be.

Has anyone had this problem before??

Kind Regards

Ole Mose Nielsen

    Hi Ole,

your best option: Log a support message to our support, please...

If you know, what you are doing you can try to manually remove the index by roughly doing the following:

    - delete the respective index from the TREX Server file system

    - delete all entries of that index in TREX ini files (use file system search to find all entries)

    - delete all entries of that index from CM config/properties files (use file system search to find all entries)

    - Recreate the index from scratch

BUT, as I said, only do so, if you are sure you can complete this. Otherwise you get even further out of sync.

AND this will not clarify, why this has happened.

So, actually, better contact SAP support...

    Regards, Karsten

    Try it!.
