"alertinbox" BSP Activation

Has anyone activated the "alertinbox" BSP under Transaction sicf on a SSM 3.1 System? We've just activated it and we only get a error 500 on the page in the web browser. What else needs to be done/activated to use this BSP?

How about reading the documentation?

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/24/540f3cde4ffd3ce10000000a114084/frameset.htm

HTTP rc=500 usually means a server error. Switch off the friendliness in your browser, and see what the server is trying to say to you. As help, read:

BSP Trouble Shooting: Browser Settings

/people/mark.finnern/blog/2003/09/18/bsp-trouble-shooting-browser-settings

If you don't like the message, consider OSS, queue BC-SRV-GBT-ALM.

Thanks the docs we had already read and so things there, we think, are ok. The friendly messages helped but the error message is the same one you give as an example, "( Abbruchsart: RABAX_STATE )"

We do also have a short dump, why we didn't think to check there first I don't know. "CX_BSP_REQUIRES_HTTPS" Is our short dump and we are checking in the OSS for that now.

Actually still no luck tracking it down, any general ideas before I open a OSS message?

Hi,

Still fighting here but we think we've got it narrowed down. We don't have a HTTPS server configured on our system. Could it be that this BSP requires that to be configured first?

This exception CX_BSP_REQUIRES_HTTPS immediately tells the full story!

If you look at the properties tab of a BSP page, you will see there a HTTPS checkbox. If set, it means that the page can only be accessed in HTTPS mode.

The BSP runtime can not switch into HTTPS mode, because it is not configured.

Sidebar: the same HTTPS checkbox flags are now also supported via ICF for complete node in one step!

Either configure HTTPS (some work), or modify application by stripping checkboxes.

I just finished configuring the HTTPS to work (seems to now help with another BSP "crm_ic" as well.

So everything seems to be solved. Thanks for your help.

We've just modified our install docs to make sure the next WebAS server installed has both HTTP and HTTPS running by default.

Can you pls provide instructions on how you enabled HTTPS on your WAS? We are running WAS 6.40 and want to enable HTTPS. When I try to create a HTTPS service from SMICM transaction get an error message saying the service could not be activated. Bottomline, we want to enable ICH (a BSP application in SCM4.1) but since we don't have HTTPS installed we are running into issues.

Thanks

Sam,

All of this is well documented. Even if we do sometimes have holes in the documentation (as seen in previous append), this stuff you ask about was documented on day one. This forum is not a substitute for reading. We are not here to spoon-feed every person that has issues. Please invest a little effort before starting ask here.

As starting point, I would recommend note 510007, Setting up SSL on the Web Application Server: This note briefly describes the steps required to set up SSL ...

Hi Craig,

I am having trouble configuring SSL (HTTPS) for CRM_IC. I saw that you have configured https for crm_ic, hence I thought of asking you.

This is what I have done till now.

1) Installed the SAP Crypto libraries and installed certificates on the WAS as per Note 510007

2) Under transaction SICF, I have set the services CRM_IC_RT_REP and CRM_IC to "SSL".

3) When I browser crm_ic in the browser I get a Internal error message "COMMUNICATION_ERROR"

4) If I remove the "SSL" option from the Services (under SICF), I am able to login, but I get a message saying "The page contains both secure and non secure items". Moreover I have to leave the "HTTP" port open in SMICM for this to work, which lets people to login using http (not a good idea).

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Gyana
