In custom iView using iView Personalization Field

How do I create and use iview Personalization fields that the user can use to give his\her setting and the Java iviews can use those setting in the code to perform certain actions (like no of visible rows of a table). Also would like to put a default values.

    you can do it like this

    add the attributes to the relevant .properties file (EP5) or in the portalapp.xml file (EP6)

    for EP5, this would look something like

    myproperty.value=defaultValue

    myproperty.personalization=dialog (Allows the user to change it)

    myproperty.plainDescription=My Description (This is what is displayed as the title for the property)

    in EP6, this would look something like

    <component-profile>

    <property name="myproperty" value="defaultValue"/>

    </component-profile>
