Hi,
We have recently implemented EhP5 for PLM. We have a group of users testing the newly supplied Sap standard functionality. This functionality is FPM configured application (OIF), for example recipe creation. We have already added customising for additional functionality via customising of the FPM WD4A application in administration mode (SE80). This is stable.
We now have a requirement to add two extra tabs to the recipe FPM application. This additional requirement will be met by a group of developers, and will take a number of weeks. We would like not to impact users testing the standard recipe creation application with dumping applications due to additional functionality being added to the same component configuration in parallel. I understand the way to do this would be to separate the component configurations u2013 1 std for users, 1 enhanced for developers.
I imagine the way to achieve this would be via the deep-copy functionality option with the FPM configuration editor, correct? However, if this is so, I think we may also be stuck here, as I understand deep-copy will only copy standard configurations, not enhanced configurations (we have enhanced the std application config to add the now stable functionality. Unless of course we are not concerned with having the stable functionality in our secondary config, and re-engineer our enhanced config later by adding our new requirement when complete. Unless there is another way to separate the new development from the std, based upon the same base component?
Hope that makes sense, grateful for any guidance.
Cheers, JP.
