Hello,
I am using the standard package to load master data from a BW infoobject. I am doing a selection on a hierarchy node because I don't need the whole hierarchy. When doing this all base members are loaded in BPC but the text nodes of the hierarchy are not loaded as members. As a consequence the load of the hierarchy fails because the nodes don't exist as members.
When loading master data without restriction on the hierarchy, the text nodes are well loaded in BPC.
Did someone already encounter this issue when loading master data ? Has someone a solution ?
Thanks,
Mathieu
Yes. In your data manager package (in the selection area), you need to click "Set Filters by Attributes or Hierarchies" instead of "Set Filters by Attributes and Hierarchies".
That did it for me

Thanks for your reply.
I have already tested this solution but when selecting "Set Filters by Attributes or Hierarchies" it doesn't take the hierarchy node entered as filter into account. As a consequence the whole hierarchy is loaded.
In summary,
- selection for attributes is empty
- selection for a hierarchy node is entered
- Set Filters by Attributes or Hierarchies is chosen
--> The entire hierarchy is loaded without restriction based on the hierarchy node.
Am I doing something wrong in the selection ?
I'm sure your already doing this but just to verify, on the Hierarchy tab, at the top, Import Text Nodes is set to YES, correct?
Then in the 4 columns on the Hierarchy tab should be Hierarchy=something from the drop down, Version=EMPTY, Member ID=a valid text node from the Hierarchy and Level=<blank>
Loading the top node of the heirarchy is also tricky, can you verify that none of the text nodes are being loaded or if just a select few are not loading?
What are the error messages in the jobs?
Also when you select the attributes OR Hierarchy options, if you only want the text nodes, select some dummy selection in the Attribute tab like COAREA = XXXX, that way it wont pick up base level members, only the parents.
Loading the text nodes can be very tricky in my opinion and depending on the client's master data dimension members may have to be loaded in multiple jobs. What I typically do is 3 seperate uploads and use the UPDATE write mode. I first load base level/characteristic data in 1 load, then a text node load, then the hierarchy. My advise would be to just break it up to begin with and just try loading text nodes, once you have that working then layer back in the base members and the hierarchies.

Hi,
My issue is solved. SAP has proposed me the workaround below to help me:
"When you load master data attributes and texts from InfoObject,
1. Choose "Set Filters by Attributes or Hierarchies"
2. Choose "Import Text Node" = Yes in hierarchy selection
3. Input an impossible selection such as ID between B to A in attribute
selection."
My problem was that the attributes selection was empty.
Regards,
Mathieu
