To remove standard services from an overview page (subarea or area), you can simply do it using homepage framework customization.
Sen's suggestion above would remove the PCD objects from the role assigned. However to remove the service links on area pages, you will need to remove the corresponding entries in the backend customization.
Login to your backend system and go to the following:
Transaction SPRO - SAP Reference IMG - Personnel Management - Employee Self-Service - General Settings - Homepage for Self Services - Services - Assign Services to subareas
(or)
Directly you can maintain the entries in the table V_T7XSSSERSAR
For the position column, if you remove the entry, the corresponding service will not be shown in ESS.
Read this article for more information:

Thanks,

Hi,
Go to content admin inside portal, then goto corresponding role/worksets where iviews related to compensation statement, sal. verification, etc exists.
Then, remove those iviews from those worksets/pages.(keep a copy of those worksets/pages to some folders in pcd before doing this)
But, try not to change worksets provied by business package, as because during import of a new version of the ESS business package, the changes done would be over written.

Sen

Hi.
If you mean portal services, so read the documentation [Starting and Stopping Portal Services|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dd/92fc3ee241ba28e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
Hope it helps.
