Asset Class locked for Acquisition in AM05 but still postings for Assets

Hi

We have locked the asset Class for the relevant chart of Depreciation in AM05. All the Assets balances of the Asset Class were transferred to a new Asset Class.

When we checked the Asset Class there were some postings to Assets of this Asset Class (locked) prior to the locking with Transaction Type 331(Transfer old asset acq.data from cap.inv.measure) and with Transaction Type 336 (Transfer new acquisition from cap.inv.measure).

Once the Asset Class is blocked there are further postings to the same Assets with Transaction Type 336.

Is there a possibility for posting to the relevant assets once the Asset Class is locked for acquistion. If so how can i ensure no further postings happen to the Assets.

Hi Raja,

If we lock an asset class in AM05. It will not allow to create a new asset in that asset class but we can post to the existing assets.

To prevent posting of acquisition to the asset we have to block one by one only in AS05.

Hi,

AM05 locks the asset class. That means you can not create a asset (in a specific chart of derpeciation) for this asset class.

If a asset is already created this has no impact. You can make further postings to this asset. You can not lock a asset class for already created asset. If you want to lock already created asset you can make for example shut down.

If the problem is that the locked asset class appears in the search help, please check if you have entries in table ANKB.
