New records in WF

Hello Experts,

Vendor data gets imported into my mdm system regulary.

How to create a WF for the below requirement.

- On the newly imported records a assignment operation need to be performed. How can we filter the incoming data to WF only the newly imported records.

And next time when the WF is triggered a fresh set of Newly imported records should be in WF.

Also can we schedule a Workflow instead of triggerring it on rec import/update/delete ???
