ELM - Mapping Format - Different Attribute Sets with same Attribute

53 Views

Guru's

I'm facing a strange problem in External List Management (ELM).

I have created a Mapping Format to create/update Marketing Attributes on Business Partners. But in our system we have different Marketing Attribute Sets that have the same Attributes assigned.

e.g.

Attribute Set Z_AAA has Attribute Z_123 assigned and Attribute Set Z_BBB has Attribute Z_123 assigned too.

Both these Attribute Sets and Attributes are in my Mapping Format. If I now create an upload file (Excel) e.g.

Business_Partner_ID = 1234567890

ATT_SET-Z_AAA-Z_123 = P

ATT_SET-Z_BBB-Z_123 = <blank>

and I upload this file via ELM the output in ELM makes it look like only Attribute Set Z_AAA is assigned to this Business Partner and value P is assigned to Attribute Z_123 within this Attribute Set.

....BUT.....

If I check the Business Partner itself I found out that both Attribute Set Z_AAA as Z_BBB are assigned to this Business Partner and in both Attribute Sets the value P is assigned to Attribute Z_123.

Seems to be that this is standard SAP behaviour but it also seems to me that this is not behaviour that I would expect. I would have expected that only Attribute Set Z_AAA with Attribute Z_123 and value P would have been assigned to the Business Partner!

Is this a known problem to anyone of you?

(I have searched for notes, but have not found one so far)

Would be great If you could help me!!!!

Regards,

Joost
