Hi Guys,

A quick question to all.

Is there a way to search for Messages in Integration server based on the Message size using Monitoring (RWB)?

requirement is to trace out messages with more than certain range of volume via Monitoring?

awaiting your response.

Hi senthilprakash,

I assume, your actual requirement is to find out interfaces in which message size in more than optimum size (SAP recommends 5MB). So that, you can do something about those interfaces (like scheduling them in off peak hours or control message size at source). I assume this because, I do not see any reason monitoring message size at runtime (there can be no action, which can be taken based on message size at runtime, message is already in PI).

So to check message size patterns by this way. Go to your production system, run transaction se16 (display table) then type SXMSPMAST. SXMSPMAST has column u2018MSG SIZEu2019, this give message size. Explorer more about this table.

If my assumption is wrong, i.e., you want a way to search for Messages in Integration server based on the Message size using Monitoring (RWB). As far as I know, there is no standard way. You have to use TREX or recreate SXMB_MONI program (lots of help is there on SDN), have look at these blogs [Link 1|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/909760cb-0ec8-2a10-4a96-ee8417acfbc9] (read this one to know about tables) [Link 2|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b050ff4f-84c3-2b10-3d99-8f9c44f57a17] .

Hi,

Goto

1.SXI_MONITOR->select particular message and click on details tab to get Message size.

(or)

2.SXI_MONITOR->click on particular message ->Runtime->Receiver Grouping --> MessageSizepayload/MessageSizeTotal.

SXI_MONITORING -> RUNTIME tab -> MessageSizePayload could be an option.

You will have to visually check this in RWB --> Performance monitoring .... give the required search criteria and then the message size will be shown for individual messages.

Hi Senthil,

You can't search by payload size.

If at all you want to define your own trex search criteria, you got to write a customized report for the same.

You can refer to the Trex server configuration:
