F-28 slow response Time

Hi,

I am trying to post Incoming Payment in F-28. But it is responding slowly.

We ran the exact same transaction on XYZ PC and the response time was 6 s. ABC reports that the response time varies even for the same set of data during the day, but in general, ABC has been experiencing significant response time growth in tcode F-28.

Can you please suggest.

Thanks,

Ranjith

Analyzing system response time can be pretty hit and miss. Users getting different response times for the same transaction is not too uncommon. The key would be if the two different users ran the same transaction/program in roughly the same time of day...then you could better compare the two.

Immediately during the time there is a slow system response, Basis can run analytics to gather more info on why it is occurring. It could be a result of many sessions being tied up, or one user is working in a particular transaction during a period of high load.

In my experience, slow response affects many users at once while a specific process (or processes) is running such as payroll, check runs, EBS processing, time entry, etc. I have also seen instances where users further away in different buildings than other users get a slightly slower response... but that is related to the network. If you find that the slow response affects many users at the exact same time, try looking into creating indexes for large tables. This seemed to help in most instances.
