Maximum lenght of string into ABAP BSP application

I have to process somes RSAQ_REMOTE_QUERY_CALL...

To transform my RSAQLDATA into a other format (XML, Excel) I would like concatenate all RSAQLDATA line into a single string buffer ...

But on ABAP what's the maximum lenght supported by SAP ?

Is ti possible to do a dynamic declaration data: StrBuffer(i). Like i = number of RSAQLDATA * number of line.

    Hi Jerome,

There is a STRING data type which can be used for data of dynamic length.

You can try out that option.

    Cheers

    • This right from the on-line help in SE80:

In contrast to a C or X field, the length of a string is not static but variable and adjusts itself to the current field content at runtime. Dynamic memory management is used internally. Strings can have any length.

I have used Binary Strings to output XML that I know was larger than 64Kb.
