FSA deduction and witholding taxes calculating 53 vs 52 pay periods

This year when we auto-generated all of the calendars, pay periods and pay dates, there were 53 pay periods created for 2011. Because of this, the annual contributions for the flexible spending accounts are being divided by 53 pay periods to get the weekly deduction and also the taxes are being calculated based on 53 weeks. HR brought to our attention that the 53rd pay period is really being paid in 2012 so the calculation should be based on 52 pay periods otherwise one weeku2019s worth of the 2011 election will be picked up in 2012 W2u2019s. If you can give me any guidance on this, I would appreciate it.
