Downloading to excel not displaying variable values

Hi,

our end users download reports from WAD into excel for each of their customers.

our queries have a variable for "customer" characteristic. By entering the variable value in the web template and after downloading into excel, we couldn't able to find out this excel report is for which customer but just a list of all characteristics with blank values including the blank value for customer without the entered variable value next to it.

I appreciate if any one could let me know what settings needs to be done to get the entered variable values into the downloaded excel report.

After downloading, excel report looks some thing like this for customer varible value "customer A"

Customer

Sales Organization

Material

Key Figures

Customer Sales Organization Material Key Figures

=================================================

Customer A.......data followas here.................

Customer A.......data followas here.................

Customer A.......data followas here.................

if we run in business explorer, report looks like this

Customer

Sales Organization

Material

Key Figures

Customer......Cusomer A

Customer Sales Organization Material Key Figures

=================================================

Customer A.......data followas here.................

Customer A.......data followas here.................

Customer A.......data followas here.................

thanks

    By WAD, I assume you mean web template? This is a function of the program which streams the data out to an Excel file for download. That program I believe is, LRSR_XLS_EXPORTF01.

    I have looked for it to find a way to change the output, but have not tried it yet. Supposidly a user in another forum has successfully modified this program to have the output suite their needs, at least for formatting.

    There are not options (at least w/o modifying the above program) to allow customization or selection of what is outputted w/ the "Download to Excel" option.
