Hi Webi Experts,
I have the following issue.
System Details:
- BusinessObjects XI 3.1
- 64bit system
- Windows 2008R2
- SQL 2008
I created a Webi Report and add it to a dashboard. This Webi report should be used by a certain user. The usage of this user is very basic, he needs to be able to see the report, Drill down the data and refresh the report once the report is loaded. He should not be able to edit it, change it, add anything to it and so on.
I am having real issues setting up the permissions for this user, as I ALWAYS get the following Error:
Your Security profile does not include permissions to refresh the document. (ERR_WIS_30253)
I "googled" it and find few thread with no real solutions, and I tried to give the user all possible permissions, and the only thing that solved it for me was to let this user be an Admin, which is not acceptable.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks!
Have you assigned the following rights to the user?
Refresh the report's data - for WebI Document
Data Access - for Universe
Data Access - for Connection

Data Access - for Universe - Yes
Data Access - for Connection - Yes
As for "Refresh the report's data" which is related to WebI Document, I can't find it.
I tried looking for it under:
CMC > Applications > Web intelligence > User Security < Assign Security (for the specific user) > Advanced > Add/Remove > I then searched it under General and also under Application
BTW u2013 I also gave this user a "Full Control" for the Webi part (just to check) and it still didnu2019t solved the issue.
Hi Doron & Balaji,
If you have observed in BO right collections are categorized as:
I generally follow the practice of creating custom access levels as per the business requirement and apply them on the folder level. If you're one of them, to resolve this issue for WEBI reports you would have to edit the custom access level applied on the folder by providing "Refresh report's data" privilege for 'Web Intelligence Report' in 'CONTENT' rights collection.
The key is 'CONTENT' right collection. Its similar in BIP 4.x Platform with 'owner' privilege.
Issue is resolved.:)
If above practice is not followed in your org you could also provide above stated privilege on the folder containing the WEBI report.
Kind regards,
Sandeep Rana
