transport PC

Hi expert:

I am transporting a process chain in the transport connection. grouping all the neccessary objects about the process chain. at the right side of transport connection, I found transport for PC is checked, all the objects underneath this PC are unchecked , such as process variant, infopackage etc.

for this PC, I only change some link, with out touching any process. so checking that PC is enough for transport, don't need to check process variant and infopackage etc. is that right?

That is correct. The Transport mechanism collects only the changed objects that need to be transported. If any of the objects in the Process Chain did not change, they will not be checked (collected) for transport.

Sometimes when your process chain moves to the next system, you might have to open that process chain in target system and manually activate it in that system.

Good luck

Hi,

Transport connection will only automatically check necessary objects which are in package $TMP.

It just verifies the package to which objects belong to and not if they were modified. The aforementioned package includes all newly created objects that were no previously transported to QAS/PROD.

When you first include an object in a transport request, the system asks you to assign it to a transport package -different to $TMP-. Once the order is released for transport, any subsequent modification to the object in DEV will launch a popup window asking the assignment to a new transport request. That is why Transport connection does not automatically check them for inclusion to a transport order.

In the case that you describe, if you only changed some links in the process chain, you only need to transport it.
