I mean, for instance, to have on portal some kind of Document Info Records (in R/3 DMS terminology) and to have possibility to show this records during creating workflow (attach them to workitems). Or, at least, to directly attach files to Work Task Requests (WTR). Another question to have API to extend set of attributes in WTR. API to receive information about WTR route (workflow) and workitems also necessary.
The problem that there is no Ad-hoc API information in PDK as such.
Yes that is correct. THere is no public documentation on API usage. I guess Ad-hoc workflow is meant for small tasks and not for complicated workflows.
Regarding attachments, in netweaver-04 release there might be better support not sure though.
