Link to an external page within a ViewSet

Hi,

I am trying to display an external page in a ViewSet. The target browser is very limited and does not support IFrame and does not offer the possibility to create an external window in order to display the external page.

What I need exactly is to create a ViewSet with two nested views. The first view containing an external page (i.e. http://google.com) and the second view containing some WebDynPro controls. Every time I try to redirect one of my nested views, it forwards the whole window and looses the context of my application (i am using TaskBinder.getCurrentTask().getWebContextAdapter().sendRedirect("http://www.google.com") in order to redirect to an external URL)

My question is this: Is it possible to display an external page within the WebDynPro application so that I do not loose the context when navigating to the external page. This has to be done without using IFrame's or creating an external window. The ideal situation would be to use ViewSets but this does not seem to work in WebDynPro.

Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marc Antoine

    Hallo Marc Antoine,

    your code is not supported. You are using internal classes not belonging to the official Web Dynpro Foundation Framework API:

    > TaskBinder.getCurrentTask().getWebContextAdapter().sen

    > dRedirect("http://www.google.com") in order to

    > redirect to an external URL)

    The only chance you have is to utilize the IFrame-UI-Element or the IWDWindowManager interface.

    >The target browser is very limited and does not support >IFrame and does not offer the possibility to create an >external window in order to display the external page.

    These restrictions are very deep probably making it impossible to develop such a Web Dynpro application. We only support Web Dynpro applications running on IE version 5.5 and higher. Former browser versions are not supported.

    Greetings, Bertram
