Web based access for SAP B1 8.8

Hi, a service based prospect wants web access for his service staff such that they can access assigned services and update the status etc. In general he wants total web access to SAP B1 product over the web using mobile data connection.

What product configuration do you suggest please? Can this be achieved with 2008 Server built in Remote Desktop Connection and SAP B1 alone? Prospect is budget constrained and we do not want to push Citrix or other external web servers if we don't have to. Let's assume about 5 to 10 remote uisers perahps 5 being maximum concurrent users.

Appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi,

Terminal server or Citrix server is mandatory for their remote access to B1. Only Remote Desktop Connection is not good enough.

Thanks,

OK. But Terminal Server is free with microsoft 2008 Server all editions right? No need for any external terminal servers besides what comes with MS 2008. Right?

It is true that no need for any external terminal servers besides what comes with Windows Server 2008. However, the terminal server may have limitation for number of users.
