Smartform print preview wrong alignment

Former Member

Hello all,

I have a strange problem. Existing and well functioning smartforms on a 700 system are now copied to a 701 system.

The printing of a form is ok, but when I use "Print preview" the text seems to be aligned "Justified".

This problem occurs for all our smartforms. I already checked which Paragraph formats are used and checked the smartstyle, but they are ok and stating the text to be left aligned.

I also tried to use different printers, but it makes no difference. Also I checked if it was the Sap Gui (7.20 patch level 3 and 4) but on the 700 system everyting works fine with the same Gui, so my guess is that it is not the Gui.

So with a fysical print it works fine, but the print preview all text is aligned as "Justified". How can i solve this?

I hope someone can help me with this.

Kind regards,

Marcel

Hi, i checked the code in the correction instructions, but these changes are already implemented in the system.

Also a system reboot didn't help.

Thanks for the help so far, maybe anyone has another idea?

Hi ,

This could be the problem of the following SAP note:

1246423 - Formatting w/ blank characters incorrect in Asian languages

The problem is not only for Asian languages.

Yes, that has all been checked. Everything is Ok in the smartform itself. It should work fine, as it is exactly the same as in the original system. I am out of options at the moment..

Hi,

I checked the printer settings in both systems and tried different device types, but it had no effect.

In both systems i used LOCL. In the SPAD definition of LOCL the device types are the same, only the description is different.

In the 700 system: HKSAPWIN: MS Windows driver, SAPLPD

In the 701 system: HKSAPWIN: MS Windows driver, HK Chin

I tried different device types as SAPWIN and SWIN (latin) but it had no effect.

Any idea??

Hi Marcel,

Yeah its pretty strange!!!. Why such a behaviour?

Is there any TAB space assigned to the paragraph format. Did you check properly the page size , tab spacing and its attributes.

hi,

Check the Printer assigned in both system and device types.

if the printer changes the layout automatically changes.

Ask you Basis to check whether the device type settings are same in both the systems or not.

Transaction code for checking device type SPAD.
