Push data to an iView (w/o sending a client request)

we would like to update an iView whenever data changes in the backend (without sending a client-request). Because of the nature of the http protocol, this might involve some programming (applet or javascript timer etc.)

Is there any functionality implemented in the portal that could help us here and reduce manual modifications?

Details: BSP-iView, we run a batch job on a WebAS which updates the status of orders, these status updates should be visible to the user immediately.

Tx and regards,

The only way I know of is to:

    1. Have iview A wihch is the BSP iview. This listens for client side event E

    2. Have an iview B which is invisible and reloads every x seconds. When it reloads it checks if there are any new data. If yes, then when it reloads it sends client side event E

    3. When iview A receives event E, it reloads and gets the fresh data
