Party entitled to dispose

Hi all,

I am trying to understand the role of Party entitled to dispose but I still don't feel comfortable after reading help provided by SAP. My confusion is what exactly it is? Is it the vendor that is created for a ERP plant which got replicated in SCM or is it the plant itself. Can anyone explain to me with an example of an organization with multiple plants. Say Plant-A is a mfg plant, Plant-B is a DC, both owned by an organization. Who will be the party entitled to dispose here?

Hi

Yes, the documentation could be much more elaborative.

To me , the Party Entitled to Dsipose ' is the Partner (or organization ) entitled to dispose of stock. Usually this is the plant in which the stocks are planned, and in which the ATP check is performed. Each stock must be assigned to a party entitled to dispose, meaning that it is possible to manage stocks from several plants in one warehouse number.

In your example , eiher one of those two can be the party entitled to dispose. It could be that in particuar situation Manufacturing plant is the party which is responsible for dsiposal.

Ok, thanks for your reply. Say, if there is a vendor for a plant, wouldn't the vendor be a party entitled to dispose? If there are more than one mfg plants with same vendor. This will allow the stocks from all these plants to be disposed in a DC. I am asking this for more clarification. Thanks!

Hi,

To me, if vendor is mapped as a location, then that can be mapped as "party entitled to dispose".
