Average report run times on info Cube 0IC_C03

Hi!

We have a problem with all reports based on the 0IC_C03 running slow.

These reports take around 2~3 minutes to execute.

I heard that usually some inventory reports take 10 ~ 15 minutes on an average.

Is this true?

How long does it take on an average?

Is there some documentation on how long inventory report execution usually takes.

If 2 to 3 minutes is the usual time taken to execute and I have some evidence or documentation to back me up, then the client might agree.

Also we are not looking at compression at this time.

Regards,

Anish Ninan.

If you havnt compressed the data inventory reports are bound to be slow. Then run time also depends on the number of calculation u are managing in the Bex level. Also try to use more CKF and RKFs as it reduces the run time. You can consider using

APD - by feeding the output of the query as the input of the APD - this improves the performance a lot.

Hi

1. Is your data compressed ? If no, it is always a better way to manage data in 0IC_C03.

2. Post compression the system allows us to move the marker to a convinient date which could help in processing the 0IC_C03 data.

For eg. if the marker is set at Aug 2010 then to arrive at Closing stock of Jan 2011 the system wil begin from Aug 2010 - consider the opening stock as at Aug 2010 - consider all transactions from Aug 2010 till Jan 2011 and then derive the closing stock.

If the marker is set at Nov 2010 - it is obvious that the amount of data the system processes to derive the closing stock is much less - thus quicker results.

3. When you are executing Queries - ensure that you display only aggregated results - @ Plant or Material Group level. Material should always be in the Free Characteristics. Drag and drop Characteristics that provide detailed info when you are navigating within the query results.

Cheers
