Deploy ESS Component finish with warning

Dear All,

What system we have is:

ECC6.0 EHP4 ready SR1 (ABAP)

Netweaver 7 EHP1 (EP, EPC, AS)

Now we want to deploy ESS Patch 14, when we deploy SAP PCUI_GP 600, its finish successfully.

but when we deploy SAP ESS 600, there is some "finish with warning". I see that the warning is similiar each other, below is the warning:

I try to deploy BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 and its finish with successfully... Is there anything that should I do? Is that Ok with the system? or should I undeploy the component?

I already restart the application...

In the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content" I only find:

- Common Parts ERP

- Control Center User Role

- Employee Self-Service

- Standart Portal Users

How to know that SAP ESS and BP ESS already deploy well in the EP?

I search in forum that it should have menu com.sap.pct.ess.employee in the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content". but we do not have it.

Please your advice...

On the Portal navigate to the below URL http://<hostname>:<port>/index.html

Within that select System Information and it will prompt for user id and password try giving Adminstrator User id and password.

Once you are in you will a link called ALL COMPONENTS click on it and you can use the search functionality to search ESS and if the deployment was successful then you will be seeing BP_ERPESS and SAP_ESS these 2 components and along with that the dependent components as well.

And as mentioned by Siddhartha ensure you are deploying the correct versions of the components, as far as I know you need to use PCUI_GP component for EHP4 is 603 since that is the component we are using in our landscape as well.

Please your explanation... I really confuse with the version..

Currently we have ECC6, EHP4 ready SR1. below is the software component detail:

Software Component.....Release.....level

SAP_BASIS....................701............3

SAP_ABA.......................701............3

SAP_APPL......................600............15

SAP_HR..........................600............38

EA_HR............................600............38

Is this means we have ECC6 with EHP4? what exactly ECC software component level that dependent with SAP ESS?

And we have EP with all the software component version 7.01 SP3.

If I check to notes 1243433, it said that XSS JAVA components require a certain version of the ERP Support

Package Stack (level of SAP_APPL). because my SAP_APPL have Release 600 level 15 than I assume that we have ECC without EHP4. <-- correct me if I am wrong

Please your help to take a look on this, and determine what version should I used....

If we have to used PCUI_GP level 603, what software component should I update? is that only SAP_HR and EA_HR or I need to update all of the software component...

can we still use ESS 600 SP14 for our system?

Hi,

You are getting confused with ECC and Portal. For both the systems you need to deploy the components individually.

On ECC : The below are the versions in our landscape

Software Component.....Release.....level

SAP_BASIS....................701............7

SAP_ABA.......................701............7

SAP_APPL......................604............7

SAP_HR..........................604............26

EA_HR............................604............26

And on Portal The components are different

BP_ERP5ESS ........1.41........SP7

SAP_ESS

If you are not seeing these versions, then your system is not in EHP4.

Check with your Basis team and confirm if they have deployed the components.

the highest verison is 600 Patch 15 but We can still use version 600 Patch 14 right?

Hi,

I gave the highest Version even SP14 works fine.

And the reason you are not seeing the ESS content in Portal is beacuse the BP_ERP5ESS is not deployed on Portal.

Check with your Basis team to deploy the SCA for BP ESS.

To download the BP for ESS to deploy on Portal navigate to this location in service marketplace

Software Downloads - My Companys Application Components - SAP ERP 6.0 - Entry by Component - Portal Content - BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 - Click on OS Dependent and you will see all the available versions.

Download and deploy on Portal to see the content under Portal Content - Content Provided by SAP - End User content.

NOTE: You are not DOWNLOADING EHP4 Content. If you want to implement in the same location instead of ERP 6.0 select Enhancement Packages and do the same.

We do not want go to EHP4 for now and stand in current ECC version.

When I go to http://<hostname>:<port>/index.html > System Information > ALL components, then I can find:

BP_ERP5COM..........version 1.0 SP14

BP_ERP5ESS..........version 1.0 SP14

SAP_ESS..........version 600 SP14

SAPPCUI_GP..........version 600 SP14

Is that Ok with that version for our current ECC version?

We still can't find com.sap.pct.ess.employee in the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content"..

Please if there is any idea or concern to show up menu com.sap.pct.ess.employee, or to make sure that BPESS is already deploy well.

So you are seeing the Role Employee Self-Service right.

The SAPESS is source archive you will have code for the application delivered.

You have access to ESS role and assign the role in Portal and you can start seeing the content and you need to do some config...

Close the message if your issue is resolved.

Yes, when I assign role com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles, than I can see tab ESS in the user.

What I currently ask is, I cannot find "com.sap.pct.ess.employee" in the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content"....

I am not sure, what is that you want to use under "com.sap.pct.ess.employee". I searched in our landscape I couldn't find it either.

As far as I know you have deployed the BP for ESS Successfully.

Any other experts can answer if I am missing anything.

I already can deploy the BPESS, what I already done is deploy it via JSPM, if I deploy via SDM it got hang...

but I still can't find com.sap.pct.ess.employee in the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content"..

For the ESS I start manually the webdynpro via Visual admin > SID > Server0 > services > Deploy > container > webdynpro..

if I restart the application I need to start manually again all the ESS component, is that right?

any suggest again?

EHp4 means enhancement package 4, you neeed to have as per link and pramod indicated in his clear reply

there is no issue on the components you deploy anyhow refer here

Previously I succesfull to deploy BP ERP05 ESS 1.0.... but I can't find com.sap.pct.ess.employee in the tree "Portal Content" --> "Content provided by SAP" --> "End User Content"

than I undeploy this component.... I try to deploy BP ERP05 ESS 1.41 SP01 but the SDM like hang... I check the log and below is the error:

Your backend is on EHP4? and front end not on EHP4? thats what i see

make sure you are on correct SP levels.

What I search in notes is:

Prerequisites for XSS : for Support Package 14 (SAPPCUIGP14_0.sca; SAPESS14_0.sca; SAPMSS14_0.sca; SAPASR14_0.sca; SAPPSS14_0.sca)

Minimum EP : SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Package Stack 15 or EP 7.01 Support Package Stack 02

Minimum Enterprise Backend : SAP ECC 6.0 Support Package stack 14

when I see in the system:

Our EP have all component release 7.01 with SPs 03, and for ECC he SAP_APPL is release 600 with level 15.

Please tell me if I have missunderstanding on this or I should take a look another component to make sure our backend have EHP4 or not

What we had done is:

first deploy SAP PCUI_GP 600 and SAP ESS 600

after that we deploy BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.0 and BP ERP05 ESS 1.0

is the sequence right? or we should deploy BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.0 and BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 first before we deploy SAP PCUI_GP 600 and SAP ESS 600?

Hi,

As per the link given by Siddharth

You need to deploy this versions

ESS 603 SP03

SAP_MSS 600 SP14

PCUI_GP 603 SP03

BP ERP05 ESS 1.41 SP01

BP ERP05 MSS 1.41 SP01

BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.41 SP01

Try deploying PCUI_GP before ESS since ESS uses dependent component which are part of PCUI_GP.

And When creating a Track for custom Development try deploying all the dependent components and then PCUI_GP and in the last SAP_ESS.
