Hello Experts,

Has anymore experienced this...When running a Query that has a Variable Entry, it is impossible to select values in the u201EValue rangesu201C.

When selecting a u201EFromu201C and u201ETou201C entry we get the error message: u201ECharacteristic XX has no master data for XXu201C.

XX can be an for example Account number or date...

Thanks

Check master data of Characteristic XX. Apparently there is no data loaded in to it.

You can do thsi in TA RSA1->Modeling-InfoObjects->search for Characteristic XX, double click on it->Click on Maintenance icon.

Thanks for your reply but these Characteristic problems seem to apply to all characteristic's in the variable screen and only when you choose "Value ranges" and the operator "between" in the selection window. All other selections with-in the Value Range operator work as they should.

Thanks again for your earlier help.

Lísa

Hi Martin,

Thanks again for you help... but our SP level is 22 and my DEV system has been upgraded to EHP 1 so these notes are not relevant to my problem.

Any other idea's?

Thanks though

Lisa,

One more question, are you using compound characteristic?

Thanks,

Hi Diego,

I have tried RSRT and it works. This seems to be a BEX's problem.

Also we use compound characteristic's but this is not connected to the problem, because eg. DATE is not a compound characteristic.

Thanks

Lisa,

Thanks for your update.

Now the issue is cleary and to solve it, please implement the following note by the SNOTE:

1240222 Filter value from compound characteristic is not displayed

As you are using the compounding characteristic, this note will fix the issue.

Test the issue after apply it.

Thanks

Sorry for the long time to respond your thread, I spent more time checking and analyzing the issue and talking with some collegues we found the following note that is the latest one that can solve your issue. Please take a look on it and fell free to implement it:

Hi Diego,

I really wish i could tell you the note solved the problem, but unfortunately the Date variable (and other variables) are still getting the error message.

Thanks though for all your help.

Hello Lisa,

According to my development team, the note that should fix the issue is the following:

1528687 Selection screen range value is validated incorrectly

A collegue already sent to you this note, but you can check the note again.

Thanks

Hi Diego.

Thank you very much for all the help. The note 1528687 that you sent me (and Martin Maruskin) worked. I don't know why it didn't work earlier, perhaps i tried the first 3 notes and gave up. I gave you 10 points and Martin 6. I would give Martin 10 also but i could only give one person 10 points. So i decided you earned more by helping me so much.

Thanks again,

Lisa
