why we are select in chart of accounts GL account lenth 6 only.

Hi Ram,

SAP allowes maximum of 10 digit length for Chart of Accounts, but there is no thumb rule that we have to use 6 or 7 or someting else, but we have to use minimum of 1.

But in India most of the companies are using 6 digits for their convenience.

the lenght of GL account can be set to maximum of 10 digits .

It depends on the implementation requirements that up to what complexity is the logic to be set in GL accounts .

it all depends on the requirement , well there is no thumb rule that you have to select 6 or 7 . gather the requirement and use up to 10 digits .

But normally indian company codes required 6 dig only To avoid 0000's at prepix.

Hi,

There is no special business requirement for selecting 6 digitis for COA. But generally we will suggest customers 6 digis since it is easy to remember and enter for the users. other than nothing else..
