We can not read an archive file from the SAP Content Server, however we can store the file on the content server and retrieve it back to the exchange directory where it can then be read.
We are using CS 6.4, ArchiveLink version 0046 and compression is turned off on the content server. UncompressedMimes is set to all, Security is set to 0
We tested with MM_MATBEL, FI_Document, and ec_pca_itm
Once we stored the archive files on the CS we could not read them unless re retrieved them.
SAP version is 4.70 SP 066
