With regard to a scenario, there are many options.
one example: BW is your enterprise data warehouse. You have many different source systems feeding sales data into BW. This data is fed through ODS Objects into a consolidated Sales InfoCube.
You then wish to send the latest consolidated data for sales for region europe to a home built data mart on a nightly. Open hub can let you schedule this easily.
