Remove User from Everyone Group

Hi,

i have assigned a customized End User Role to the Everyone Group. There are a couple of special user that should not have the End User Role. Therefore i have tried to Remove this Users from the Everyone Group.

Everything seemed to work. I was asked if i really want to remove this user and i several answered with okay but the user was still in the group.

Does anyone know how to remove users from everyone?

Hello Nicole,

Actually, what Dimitry wrote is correct. If it comes to the group Everyone this group is basically the sum of the groups Anonymous Users and Authenticated Users.

So every User of the Enterprise Portal is in the group Everyone. Roles that should not be seen/used by every user may not be assigned to this group.

Eventually this means it is not possible - or probably more correctly spoken strongly not recommended - to remove users from the group Everyone.

Well.. i am not a native speaker, so i might be misstaken, but wouldn't this mean that the user would become no one in this case. Which means you can effectivelly just delete the user.

What you probably want is another portal desktop, so the user whould not get the worksets, assigned to the everyone role, in this case you need to redefine the desktop rools. This however is not the best solution, since the user would still have an access to the above mentioned worksets (e.g. via URL).

To avoid this you would need to redefine worksets <-> role assignment.
