Webdispatcher 7.20: Connect to Business Objects?

Former Member

Hello all,

With the webdispatcher 7.20, it is now possible to connect one WD to multiple backend systems.

Is there also a way to connect the WD to Business Objects using the wdisp/system_x parameter (or another way)?

Edit: Maybe it would be interesting to expand the question to "how can the webdispatcher be connected to non-SAP applications".

Kind regards, Wilbert

Hi WIlbert,

Yes, this is possible.. Please check [this|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/1b/b0fd8a12344c4ca89b7a1c5d1d7310/content.htm] link. It clearly describes the parameter that you should use..

Kind regards,

Hello mark,

Yeah, we saw that part of the documentation. The problem is that BO does not have a SID or message server, so the connection does not show up in the WD administration as other SAP instances do. Furthermore, since no logon group can be determined by the WD, we get routing errors when "speaking" to the BO system.

Kind regards, Wilbert

Hi Wilbert,

I just tested the following on my localhost. I connected to Wily Enterprise Manager (which doesn't have a SID) via the webdispatcher.

Port on which I would like to connect to the Wily EM:

icm/server_port_1 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=4444

Connection to external system:

wdisp/system_0 = SID=EXT, EXTSRV=http://localhost:8080, SRCSRV=*:4444

So now all requests on port 4444 are redirected to my Wily instance.

Also in the Webdispatcher admin console, server group EXT has been added.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi!, As Mark said, SAP BO should be an "external system"
