Masthead Problem

<b>Hello Developer,</b>

I have a big problem with the mastheader iview! The iview doesn't work! In every place I can find the mastheader iview I have always the same error message:

Errore run-time portale

Errore di elaborazione di una richiesta per :

iView : pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.masthead

Nome componente : com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.default

Error in compiling : java.lang.NullPointerException.

Exception id: 12:13_19/05/04_0001

See the details for the exception ID in the log file

I have no idea about how I can resolve this problem!

<u>Any suggestion?</u>

Kind regards

    Hi,

have you tried to open the masthead iView in Preview Mode? What is the result then??

have you changed anything to the default framework of the portal or the End-User ACLs on portal content?

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for your answer!

I have tried the iview preview but the masthead iview doesn't work!

Now, everytime I try to see the masthead iview (singularly or in the framework) I can't see it and I've always the same runtime error!

It's a big problem for me!!!

    Any suggestions?

    Kind Regards

It might have become corrupt (or someone has deleted some files from the deployment).

      Try copy the file

\usr\sap\EPXX\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd\com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak to com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par and then deploy it to the portal again.

      Didn't help very much.

If you have two portal environments (and one is working), try comparing

      \usr\sap\EPXX\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead

Otherwise, I would try to create a new iview from the com.sap.portal.masthead par file and see if the same problem occurs there (it might be a corrupted pcd).

If this fails, you probably need to open an OSS against SAP

    Hi,

You can isolate the problem by disabling the "Toolarea" iview from the Default Framework page. You can do this using Content Administration Portal Users ->Standard Portal Users -> Default Framework Page. Select the ToolArea iview and click on "Hide". If you have any problems with the ToolArea component options like RTC,Search or CLP, then this will stop it from getting displayed.

If this also does not solve the problem, then you can try deleting the contents of jsp folder (only the contents not the folder) .

Path of jsp folder = \usr\sap\XXXX\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead\work\jsp

After delecting the contents restart the portal and see if you get the masthead.

    Kind regards,

    Swapnil
