Sorting order of dimension members get changed

Hi SAP BPC Experts,

Both French and English languages are installed on our BPC Client SP05.

French is the work language.

but to document another error (to open a

different OSS Message), I logged in English.

When I tried to maintain the dimension members in English, the right

sorting order was totally changed (it is now sorted alphabetically

along the ID), even though I never saved the members whilst in English.

When I return to French, that bogus sorting order is kept, which is

wrong.

Please help on the issue.

The fact that sort order of dimension members is a problem is an issue that has been raised in OSS notes before.

So far, SAP apparently advises you to just recopy the dimension members from an older file of dimension members that are sorted properly and to then reprocess.

A new patch for SP05 is being issued on the 30th and another in the second week of Jan....May be this will help you!

I've had so many problems with SP05, SP04 was more stable!!!!

If SAP BPC is supporting 5 languages by default, then this problem should not arise.

Sorting order should not change.

Please suggest how to fix this.

Hello,

Each time you open a member sheet, the sheet is rebuilt from the SAP Net Weaver database. The sheets store all properties and members alphabetically.

I think you can't control this behavior.
